Go Back To Hospital, You Are Unfit ––Assembly Orders Suntai

The political power play going on in Taraba State took a different
turn on Thursday as the House of Assembly sat for the first time
since the return of Governor Danbaba Suntai and took far
reaching decisions that have already increased the tension in the
state.
Nikky Amebo blog (NAB) gathered that the Assembly passed a resolution,
signed by 16 members out of 24 members of the House, directing
Governor Suntai to vacate office and return to hospital
immediately.
The Taraba State House of Assembly also reaffirmed the deputy
governor, Alhaji Garba Umar as the Acting Governor of the state,
insisting that no one (Suntai's wife) will rule the state from the
back door.
In a statement, the lawmakers said the decision was taken in the
interest of the state:
“ The leadership of the assembly made several efforts to see the
governor since his arrival, but till Wednesday they were not
allowed access to him . [On Wednesday] the ailing governor spoke
in a manner that brought more doubt to his letter purportedly
transmitted to the speaker.
“In view of the above, we, the undersigned members of the state
assembly unanimously resolved at our meeting that the Deputy
Governor, upon whom power was earlier transmitted to by the
state Assembly, still remain the acting Governor of Taraba.
“He will continue to act in that regards until such a time the
governor is capable of administering the state.”
The Speaker of the House was the presiding officer, so there
was no mago-mago!
