What Makes Me Stand Out From Wizkid, Davido and Olamide - Rapper Vector

hIn a recent interview with a national newspaper fast
rising rapper, David Ogunmefun aka Vector reveals
why he is different from Wizkid, Davido, Olamide and
the likes. He is one musician who understands his trade
and prides himself as one of the masters of the game
who stands out from the rest.
According to him, he has a high moral standard and believes in
education before anytihng.
See excerpts from the interview below:
Don’t you think the likes of Davido, Wizkid, Olamide are
stealing the show from you and others?
I have never seen it like that. I will never see it that way. These
guys are successful and I bless God for their lives. If you care to
know, our audiences are different, so they are not stealing the
show.
What makes you stand out: I don’t mean to disrespect
anybody, I have high moral; the guy that doesn’t do tattoo or plait
his hair. Moreover, I am a guy that believes in education before
anything.
Are you saying this because some of these guys have
tattoo on their bodies and that a handful of them
dropped out of school: No! I’m saying what makes me stand
out is what I have been doing and what makes them stand out is
what they have been doing. I have my fans around the world and I
am comfortable with the love they show me.
Why did you have 9ice, Sound Sultan, Kl, Ayuba without
any of the young guys in your album: Let me correct this
impression, I may be young but I have an adult mind. Sound Sultan,
9ice and others that you mentioned have grown up. They don’t
have any reason to raise their shoulders against yours, unlike the
younger generation, we like to raise shoulders for ourselves,
creating a competition that does not exist.

No Renegotiation On ASUU’s Paltry N87bn, National Assembly Spent N1tn In 8 Years – APC

The Federal Government should honour its agreement with the
Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in order to end
the ongoing strike that has paralyzed academic activities in
government-owned universities, the All Progressives
Congress (APC) has said.
The party’s Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai
Mohammed, said in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday
that no government can afford to play with education,
because it is the path to national
development.
According to the party, ASUU was not making any fresh
demands beyond the agreement it reached with the
government in 2009, adding: “Agreements are meant to be
honoured, and breaching them comes with some
consequences.”
APC said the industrial action by the university lecturers
which has kept students in public universities at home for
many weeks is a further blow to the country’s education
system which has deteriorated so much that no Nigerian
university is currently listed in the top 100 universities in the
world and only a few Nigerian universities have made the top
100 in Africa.
“The 87 billion naira that ASUU is demanding represents
earned allowances hence cannot be renegotiated. In any case,
this amount pales into insignificance when placed side by side
with the 1 trillion naira that has been spent on federal
legislators in the past 8 years; or the frivolity involved in a
government minister travelling to China to negotiate a $1 billion
loan in a chartered jet (with its attendant costs) and with a
retinue of staffers who earned generous estacode in hard
currency.
“It is an indication of the kind of priority that this Federal
Government attaches to education that while it has refused
to meet its own side of an agreement it reached with ASUU
since 2009, it could pay out 3 trillion naira in non-existent
fuel subsidies to fat cats, spend 10 billion naira annually to
maintain the jets in the presidential fleet and do little or
nothing to prevent the stealing of 400,000 barrels of
crude oil per day, which translates to $120 million in a month,
money that surely ends up in some people’s pockets!
“What we are saying is that if the Federal Government would
reduce its profligacy and cut waste, there will be enough
money to pay teachers in public universities, as well as fund
research and upgrade infrastructure in such institutions.
Hungry teachers can neither teach well nor carry out
research. And poorly-taught students can neither excel nor
propel their nation to great
heights,” the statement said.
The party also registered its disgust at the demonstrated
nonchalance of those who should be working round the clock
to resolve the crisis, especially the Minister of State for
Education Nyeson Wike, who the party said has enough time
on his hands “to be launching vigilance groups and dancing
‘palongo’ around town when the nation’s public universities
are shut and students are languishing. This is shameful and
totally unacceptable.”
“We are not surprised because most government officials
have sent their children and wards to foreign universities,
hence do not give a damn if the children of others are in school
or not.
“Education is the key to national development. This is why
UNESCO has recommended an allocation of at least 26% of
national budgets to that critical sector. Therefore, talking
about national growth and development without adequately
funding education is a pipe dream!” APC said.

[Confession] I Can’t Show Off My Boyfriend To The World! I Am Depressed!

The kind of love I have for him is the
type that I can’t categorically
express. I don’t even know if I
understand what I feel for him. To
me, he’s the only man that makes
me happy and he coped well with
my deficiencies.
I
am this kind of a complicated lady. Several people find it very
difficult to understand me. I’m not a bad person. It just looks to
them like I complain a lot. But, why won’t I complain about
things that don’t please me? Some even do complain that I
can’t be pleased. Well, I don’t know about that, it’s just their
perception about me and I’m not worried. Due to the kind of
person that people see me as, I found it difficult to have a
stable relationship. Despite the fact that I’m a very pretty girl,
I still can’t have a relationship that last long. The
highest period of time that I dated a man was 3 months. I was
just unlucky with guys.
They speak annoying words to me all in the name of starting a
relationship. The one I dated for a day was the most annoying
of them all. When I gave him my “yes” answer in the night, we
spent the next day together and had a memorable time. On
getting back home, I started receiving annoying text messages
from him. He started talking about how he had been looking at
my arse when we were walking. He even went further to
describe how it was bouncing. Bullshit! I got pissed by that and
broke up with him instantly. If I didn’t do that, he would have
gave me more insults. I came across lots of men like that. I
couldn’t just put up with them.
When I met Demola, things were different. He puts up with all
my repelling attitudes. Although, Demola is not handsome and
broke guy, he’s the only guy who has ever swept me off my
feet. He made me see good things about myself. He never
focused on my bad side. I was so comfortable with him.
Despite the way I feel for him, I still cannot figure out the
reason I find it difficult to introduce him to my friends as my
boyfriend. I denied him on several occasions, saying that he
was just a friend. He still would not get angry. Demola is so
calm and God fearing.
He spoke to me about marriage. Deep within me, I knew Demola
was the only man that I can successfully get married to due to
my kind of person. I still could not tell him “yes” for some
strange reasons. I told him to let me think about it and he said I
have the whole time in the world. He said he’ll humbly wait until I
decide.
Now, I’m thinking about how to break the news to my friends
who actually thought Demola was just a friend. At times they
even mock him in my presence thinking that he was just a
friend. That aside, how will I take such a man who’s not
physically attractive to my parents and siblings? I could
remember that I and my other siblings have always been in that
game of bringing
home the most handsome man. Also, my mother had warned me
not to marry unless my man has a good job.
Demola on his part has a job, but, he’s not earning much. He
planned on getting a room and parlour apartment for the
start. How will I narrate the story to my mum, siblings, family
and friends? I’m so in a tight corner and don’t know what to
do. I am such a mess right now!

Female Infertility; Causes, Symptoms, Treatments and Drugs, Preventions

Infertility means that couples have been trying to get pregnant
with frequent intercourse for at least a year with no success. An
estimated 10 to 15 percent of couples have trouble getting
pregnant or getting to a successful delivery.
Infertility results from female infertility factors about one-third
of the time and male infertility factors about one-third of the
time. In the rest, the cause is either unknown or a combination of
male and female factors.
The cause of female infertility can be difficult to diagnose, but
many treatments are available. Treatment options depend on the
underlying problem. Treatment isn't always necessary — many
infertile couples will go on to conceive a child spontaneously.
Symptoms
The main symptom of infertility is the inability of a couple to get
pregnant. A menstrual cycle that's too long (35 days or more), too
short (less than 21 days), irregular or absent can be a sign of lack
of ovulation, which can be associated with female infertility. There
may be no other outward signs or symptoms.
When to see a doctor
When to seek help depends, in part, on your age.
If you're in your early 30s or younger, most doctors recommend
trying to get pregnant for at least a year before having any
testing or treatment.
If you're between 35 and 40, discuss your concerns with your
doctor after six months of trying.
If you're older than 40, your doctor may want to begin testing or
treatment right away.
Your doctor also may want to begin testing or treatment right
away if you or your partner has known fertility problems, or if
you have a history of irregular or painful periods, pelvic
inflammatory disease, repeated miscarriages, prior cancer
treatment, or endometriosis.
Causes
To become pregnant, each of these factors is essential:
You need to ovulate. Achieving pregnancy requires that your
ovaries produce and release an egg, a process known as ovulation.
Your doctor can help evaluate your menstrual cycles and confirm
ovulation.
Your partner needs sperm. For most couples, this isn't a problem
unless your partner has a history of illness or surgery. Your
doctor can run some simple tests to evaluate the health of your
partner's sperm.
You need to have regular intercourse. You need to have regular
s*xual intercourse during your fertile time. Your doctor can help
you better understand when you're most fertile during your cycle.
You need to have open fallopian tubes and a normal uterus. The
egg and sperm meet in the fallopian tubes, and the pregnancy
needs a healthy place to grow.
For pregnancy to occur, every part of the complex human
reproduction process has to take place just right. The steps in
this process are as follows:
One of the two ovaries releases a mature egg.
The egg is picked up by the fallopian tube.
Sperm swim up the cervix, through the uterus and into the
fallopian tube to reach the egg for fertilization.
The fertilized egg travels down the fallopian tube to the uterus.
The fertilized egg implants and grows in the uterus.
In women, a number of factors can disrupt this process at any
step. Female infertility is caused by one or more of these factors.
1. Ovulation disorders
2. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
3. Hypothalamic dysfunction.
4. Premature ovarian insufficiency.
5. Too much prolactin.
6. Damage to fallopian tubes (tubal infertility)
7. Pelvic inflammatory disease, an infection of the uterus and
fallopian tubes due to chlamydia, gonorrhea or other sexually
transmitted infections
8. Previous surgery in the abdomen or pelvis, including surgery for
ectopic pregnancy, in which a fertilized egg becomes implanted
and starts to develop in a fallopian tube instead of the uterus
9. Pelvic tuberculosis, a major cause of tubal infertility worldwide,
although uncommon in the United States
10. Endometriosis
Endometriosis occurs when tissue that normally grows in the
uterus implants and grows in other locations. This extra tissue
growth — and the surgical removal of it — can cause scarring,
which may obstruct the tube and keep the egg and sperm from
uniting. It can also affect the lining of the uterus, disrupting
implantation of the fertilized egg. The condition also seems to
affect fertility in less-direct ways, such as damage to the sperm
or egg.
11. Uterine or cervical causes
Several uterine or cervical causes can impact fertility by
interfering with implantation or increasing the likelihood of a
miscarriage.
12. Benign polyps or tumors (fibroids or myomas)
13. Uterine abnormalities present from birth, such as an abnormally
shaped uterus, can cause problems becoming or remaining
pregnant.
14. Cervical stenosis, a cervical narrowing, can be caused by an
inherited malformation or damage to the cervix.
15. Unexplained infertility
In some instances, a cause for infertility is never found. It's
possible that a combination of several minor factors in both
partners underlie these unexplained fertility problems. Although
it's frustrating to not get a specific answer, this problem may
correct itself with time
Treatments and drugs
How your infertility is treated depends on the cause, your age,
how long you've been infertile and personal preferences. Because
infertility is a complex disorder, treatment involves significant
financial, physical, psychological and time commitments. Although
some women need just one or two therapies to restore fertility,
it's possible that several different types of treatment may be
needed before you're able to conceive.
Treatments can either attempt to restore fertility — by means of
medication or surgery — or assist in reproduction with
sophisticated techniques.
1. Fertility restoration: Stimulating ovulation with fertility drugs.
Fertility drugs, which regulate or induce ovulation, are the main
treatment for women who are infertile due to ovulation disorders.
In general, they work like the natural hormones — follicle-
stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) — to
trigger ovulation. They are also used in women who ovulate to try
to stimulate a better egg or an extra egg or eggs. Fertility drugs
may include:
Clomiphene citrate.
Gonadotropins.
Metformin.
Letrozole.
Bromocriptine.
2. Fertility restoration: Surgery
Several surgical procedures can correct problems or otherwise
improve female fertility. However, surgical treatments for fertility
are rare these days now that other fertility treatments have high
success. They include:
Laparoscopic or hysteroscopic surgery.
Tubal ligation reversal surgery (microscopic).
Tubal surgeries.
3. Reproductive assistance
The most commonly used methods of reproductive assistance
include:
Intrauterine insemination (IUI). During IUI, millions of healthy sperm
are placed inside the uterus close to the time of ovulation.
Assisted reproductive technology. These methods involve
retrieving mature eggs from a woman, fertilizing them with a
man's sperm in a dish in a lab, then transferring the embryos into
the uterus after fertilization. IVF is the most effective assisted
reproductive technology. An IVF cycle takes several weeks and
requires frequent blood tests and daily hormone injections.
Preventions
If you're a woman thinking about getting pregnant soon or in the
future, you may improve your chances of having normal fertility if
you:
Maintain a normal weight. Overweight and underweight women are
at increased risk of ovulation disorders. If you need to lose weight,
exercise moderately. Strenuous, intense exercise of more than
seven hours a week has been associated with decreased ovulation.
Quit smoking. Tobacco has multiple negative effects on fertility,
not to mention your general health and the health of a fetus. If you
smoke and are considering pregnancy, quit now.
Avoid alcohol. Heavy alcohol use may lead to decreased fertility.
And any alcohol use can affect the health of a developing fetus. If
you're planning to become pregnant, avoid alcohol, and don't drink
alcohol while you're pregnant.
Reduce stress. Some studies have shown that couples
experiencing psychological stress had poorer results with
infertility treatment. If you can, find a way to reduce stress in
your life before trying to become pregnant.
Limit caffeine. Some physicians suggest limiting caffeine intake to
less than 200 to 300 milligrams a day

Things That Can Affect A Man's Sperm

Things that can affect a man's sperm
You probably know about some of the biggies like smoking, alcohol,
illicit drug use or hot tubs impairing a man's fertility but here are a
few things you may not know about:
1. Morning s3x = higher sperm count: If you are trying to conceive,
time intercourse when his sperm count is at its highest.
Researchers have found that men generally have a higher sperm
count in the mornings. Men's intimate interest may be higher in the
mornings as well.
2. His weight matters: Women are not the only ones who have
weight related fertility issues. Men who are overweight or
underweight are more likely to have problems with infertility.
Having too much or too little body fat may affect a man's hormone
levels. Scientists in one Finnish study found that a 20 lb weight
gain may increase a man's chance of being infertile by 10 percent.
3. Have more s3x not less: Men with low sperm counts are often
advised to abstain from s3x in order to improve their sperm count,
but new research suggests that while this may improve sperm
count, too much abstinence can damage the DNA of the sperm
that is produced. Australian researchers have found that having
daily s3x actually improves the quality, if not the quantity of
sperm. The thought behind this is that regular ejaculations get rid
of the old sperm and make way for newer healthier sperm.
4. Folic acid is not only good for the goose, but it is also good for
the gander. Most women know that taking a folic acid supplement
is important during childbearing years because it can prevent
certain birth defects. You may not have known that it is also
important for men to eat a diet containing folic acid. A recent
study by researchers at the University of California, Berkley
found that men who had lower levels of folic acid (or folate) in
their diets had a higher rate of chromosomal abnormalities in their
sperm.
5. Avoid soy products. A recent study published by Oxford
University Press's online publication Human Reproduction,
suggests that eating a diet high in soy foods could cause men to
have a lower sperm count. According to the study, men who ate
soy foods were more likely to have lower sperm counts (although
not necessarily abnormally low) than men who did not eat soy.
6. Skip the lubricants. Lubricants can impede the movement of
sperm. A woman's cervical mucous is designed to help transport
sperm, but many commercial lubricants have the opposite effect.
Lubricants like KY Jelly, baby oil, or petroleum jelly have been
shown to slow down or damage sperm. Saliva can also damage
sperm. One lubricant that is okay to use is Pre-seed. According to
one study in the ASRM's journal of Fertility and Sterility, Pre-seed
was not shown to harm or slow down sperm.
7. Watch out for cell phones and laptops. There have been a few
studies that have shown that excessive use of laptops or cell
phones can cause sperm damage. Laptops, if placed on a man's
lap, get hot over time. The increase in scrotal temperature may
have a negative effect on a man's sperm if he keeps a laptop
sitting on his lap for extended periods of time. Similarly, cell phone
emissions might also cause sperm damage. Keeping a cell phone in a
close proximity to a man's scrotum could potentially cause a
decrease in sperm quality, according to a small research study
from the Cleveland Clinic.

Teenage Black Boy Denied Heart Transplant Due To Juvenile Record

Fifteen-year-old Anthony Stokes has less than six months to live
unless he receives an emergency heart transplant. But his family
has been told that Anthony doesn’t qualify for the transplant list
because he has a “history of non-compliance” — partly due to his
history of earning low grades and having some trouble with the
law.
“They said they don’t have any evidence that he would take his
medicine or that he would go to his follow-ups,” Melencia Hamilton,
Anthony’s mother, told WSBTV News. Hamilton explained that her
son has an enlarged heart, and a transplant is the only thing that
will help his condition.
The doctors at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta weren’t very
specific about what exactly contributed to their decision to label
Anthony as “non-compliant.” But family friends explained to
WSBTV News that they were told it’s partly because of
Anthony’s performance in school and run-ins with law
enforcement.
His family and friends don’t accept that as a valid reason to deny
the teen life-saving treatment. “We must save Anthony’s life,”
family friend Mack Major, identified as Anthony’s mentor, told CBS
Atlanta. “We don’t have a lot of time to do it, but it’s something
that must be done.”

A Muslim Girl's Heart Desires

Sometimes,
I want to open my Hijab,
and show the world
that I too,
Am beautiful in the people's definition.
But,
Deep down here,
in my little heart,
I know that beauty is by definition, a mystery.
And it is forever more rewarding,
to be beautiful in God's eyes.
Sometimes,
I want to wear ruffled dresses & tight jeans
show off what I really look like,
under those baggy shirts & loosely fitted pants
make a statement that I too have a figure and worth looking at.
But,
I know better,
to avoid entering the world of men's imagination,
for I love my future hubby
and I am ashamed,
what should be his, has already be unveiled by others.
Sometimes,
I want to show the world,
the other side of me,
the bubblier, bolder and crazier me,
put myself on display
for everyone to see, to be desired and admired upon.
But,
I know that eyes are not just eyes
seeing is not just seeing,
Image & Respect are gained,
Shame & Humility deserve a better place...

Ways To Show An Online Guy You Like Him

If you have never tried to capture the heart of an online cutie
before, you might be wondering about some good ways to show an
online guy you like him. Unfortunately you can't use the tried and
true tactics, such as flirtatious body language, to get your point
across.
So what's a girl to do? Don't worry girls because I'm going to reveal
a few great ways to show an online guy you like him.
1. INITIATE CONVERSATIONS
The first step in any romance begins with a greeting and online is
no different. Be the brazen one and send him a simple greeting
such as "hey" whenever he comes online. One of the best ways to
show an online guy you like him is to greet him the moment he
comes online. He will get the hint that you are happy to see him. A
good way to test your crush's interest after you have had a few
chats, is to wait and see if he initiates conversations in the future.
2. USE EMOTICONS FREQUENTLY
Flirting is a bit tricky when its done online. Unless you have a
webcam, you need to rely heavily on flirty emoticons to convey
facial expressions. Flirty emoticons are created using colons,
semicolons and letters in a variety of ways. Some good emoticon
choices include the winky smiley face, the winky smiley face with
its tongue sticking out, smiley face, the kiss and the smirk.
3. MAINTAIN A POSITIVE CONVERSATION TONE
Although there are endless topics to talk about with a guy, your
overall tone should be laidback and happy. Avoid complaining
because its likely to annoy and bore him. Another thing you
shouldn't do is to tell him that you hate certain aspects of your
body such as your hips because it will seem like you are fishing for
compliments and lack confidence. Keep things light, fun and
interesting.
4. KEEP CONVERSATION FLOWING
If the two of you click, then the conversation will naturally flow
without awkward silences filled with "…" on your computer screen.
If phone silence is dreadful, online silence is just as bad because a
conversation can go from playful banter to an abrupt silence
where imaginary virtual crickets can be heard chirping in the
background. So to minimize the chance of that awfulness from
happening, think of some easy questions ahead of time to to ask
him. As he talks about himself, sprinkle flirtatious innuendos
throughout the conversation so he gets the feeling that you like
him as more than a friend.
5. SHARE YOUR HUMOROUS SIDE
Guys love girls that have a great sense of humor so don't be afraid
to share yours. Show him that you enjoy the funny things in life by
e-mailing him funny pics, jokes or sayings. If you are Facebook
friends, post funny pics or quotes on your wall that are related to
a topic that you discussed in a previous conversation. If he posts
something funny, make sure to compliment him on it next time you
chat with him.
Hopefully that gives you a few ideas that will help you snag your
online crush.
Ladies, do you have other ideas that will help a girl show an online
guy she is crushing on him?

Biggest Shocker!! Edo Teacher Can’t Read own Certificate

There was a mild drama yesterday at the centre for the
verification of certificates of primary school teachers in Edo
State as a teacher in Asologun Primary School, Ikpoba Okha Local
Government Area, Benin City, Mrs. Augusta Odemwinge, could not
read a sworn affidavit she tendered as part of her credentials.
State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, who paid an unscheduled
visit to the state Staff Training Centre venue of the exercise,
was appalled that a teacher could not read her own document,
saying; “If you can’t read, what do you teach the pupils, what do
you write on the board?” State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of
Teachers, NUT, Comrade Patrick Ikosimi, who was also at the
venue to monitor the exercise, said the teacher’s failure to read
her own document was “an embarrassment.”
On arrival at the centre, the governor took time to peruse some of
the teachers’ credentials and documents presented. When Mrs.
Odenwingie took her turn for the exercise, the governor, who
listened to her defense, asked her to read the affidavit she
presented, however, she was stuttering and was unable to read
coherently, reading as if a kindergarten were learning to read, to
the consternation of everybody around.
Comrade Ikosimi, who described Odemwingie failure as an
embarrassment, said the union was in tune with the state
government on the need to sanitise the school system. He said: “We
are committed to partnering with the government to reposition
education in the state.
What this teacher has just displayed is a show of shame; it shows
the decadence in the education sector. “As the chairman of NUT, I
have written to the governor that we are in total support of
what he is doing. He should properly involve the NUT so that
together, we can fish out those that are not viable so as to
sanitise the system,” he said.
It will be recalled that at a televised town hall meeting on education
on August 1, Governor Oshiomhole has disclosed an audit carried
out by the state Information and Communications Technology
Agency showed that 789 out of 1, 379 teachers obtained
Primary School Leaving Certificates before the age of eight or
nine years old. The governor further disclosed that only 1, 287
teachers representing nine per cent of 14, 484 total number of
teachers in the state have accurate and proper records. About 91
per cent have various forms of discrepancies in their records,
according to him.
Meanwhile, three female teachers, Mrs. Patience Osadolor,
Momodu Aisha and Patience Oroghene, who were kidnapped at
gunpoint in Orhogbua Primary School in Ovia North East Local
Government Area penultimate Tuesday have been released unhurt.
Our correspondent reliably gathered that the kidnappers released
the victims after allegedly receiving N7 million ransom. However,
the payment could not be confirmed from authorities of any of the
security agents in the state even though a family member, who did
not want his name mentioned, confirmed the payment.

Man Kills Himself In Hospital Room After Wife Gives Birth

A man from Houston, USA, committed suicide by shooting himself in
his wife’s hospital room on August 11, 2013, Sunday, just three
and a half hours after she had given birth to their baby, local police
report.
“Family members said he has been distraught recently,” Houston
police spokesman Mr. John Cannon said on August 12, 2013,
Monday.
The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, shot himself in a
private room at Willowbrook Methodist Hospital in Northwest
Houston on Sunday afternoon, Mr. Cannon said. The medical staff
tried to save his life, but died shortly after being transported to
another hospital.
His wife, who gave birth earlier on Sunday, was not injured, and
Mr. Cannon said the baby was not in the room at the time.
Although Texas has a law allowing licensed firearms owners to
carry concealed weapons, they are prohibited in many places,
including hospitals.
Police did not know what kind of gun was used. A spokesperson
from the Houston Methodist Hospital would not comment on the
incident.

Obasanjo Explodes: Nigeria Is Cursed with Very Bad Leaders , Mentions Names

Obasanjo said all these on Tuesday in Ibadan, while reviewing the
history of Nigeria as a keynote speaker at the 4th Annual Ibadan
Sustainable Development Summit by the Centre for Sustainable
Development, University of Ibadan, and African Sustainable
Development Network.
Former President Olusegun Obsanjo has a strong message for us.
“We had some people who were under 50years in leadership
positions. One of them was James Ibori, where is he today?
One of them was Alamieyeseigha, where is he today? Lucky
Igbinedion, where is he today?
“The youngest was the Speaker, (Salisu) Buhari; you can
still recall what happened to him. You said Bola Tinubu is your
master. What Buhari did was not anything worse than what
Bola Tinubu did.
“But in this part of the world some people covered up the
other man. The man claimed he went to Government College,
Ibadan but the governor (Oyo State) went to Government
College and packed all the documents so that they would not
know that he did not go there.
“I wanted someone who would succeed me so I took Atiku.
Within a year, I started seeing the type of man Atiku is.
"And you want me to get him there?
“I once went to Tanzania because Julius Nyerere recognised
Biafra. He told me not to mind his aides and others in
government. They would say they have one house in town
but their five year old sons and daughters would have
houses all over.
“Some of you who are condemning the leadership would get
there tomorrow and it will be a different story. Only very
few are actually good.
“Abacha, my predecessor got $750m. Through our lawyer
in Switzerland we recovered $1.25bn and the lawyer still
said there is probably still another $1bn to be recovered. In
1979 we had 20 new ships specially built for Nigeria. When I
came back 20 years after, the national shipping line had
liquidated.
“The whole thing is not just about leadership. If we talk
about good leadership you should also talk about good
followers. If you talk about human right you should also talk
about human duties and obligations.
“It is sad that after 53years of independence we have no
leader that we can commend. The problem in Africa is that
when one person takes over he would not see any good
thing that his predecessor did. Let us condemn but with
caution,”

Looking for ways to impress the girl you like? Here are a few points you need to keep in mind…

Do not try too hard
First and foremost do not try to impress her! There is the big
secret. The best way to impress a girl is not to impress her.
Wondering how this really works? Well when most guys try to
impress girls they tend to become more unauthentic and try to
show off with almost anything and everything. Girls are not
impressed by such tactics and would end up putting you in
their list of ‘the show off’ guys. The best way to impress a
girl is to be yourself and let things happen automatically.
Let her respect who you are
You are highly mistaken if you think that girls have only money
and material things on their mind. If you find that a girl is
impressed by your money than she is probably looking for
money and not for you. The best way to impress a girl and
retain your status is by the way of natural talents which
involve the way you talk and present yourself. You need girls
to respect you for what you are and not what you or your
parents possess.
Talk her in
One of things which almost every girl demands and gets
impressed by is intellectuality. Try to develop your intellectual
skills. This can be done by reading up and increasing your
knowledge. Read more books and be up-to-date with the
latest happenings. Remember being a good talker is the
foundation of impressing almost any girl. No girl would be
impressed by you unless you have something which is
different from the rest. Girls normally get hit on by several
guys everyday and almost all those boys try to impress them
with all they’ve got. If you are doing and following the same
tactics as all those boys than you would never succeed in your
quest to impress girls. Show your true self while trying to
impress a girl. Don’t talk to her with the quest to impress
rather try to do what you normally do.

“Minor” heart symptoms you should never ignore

“I was short of breath. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t talk. My chest
was heavy. It felt like a heavy weight was pressing down on my
chest. I was sweating even though the air-conditioner was on. I
felt faint and fatigued. Then the pain…oh the pain! I can’t forget
that pain. It was raw, deep and intense. It was scary. It still
scares
me.” Such was the account of a friend who suffered an
“incident”
recently. She didn’t know it, but she was suffering a “petit mal”
or “little death”. In common parlance she was having a heart
attack.
How many times have you felt similar symptoms? Never, once,
twice, occasionally?
A skipped heartbeat, the feeling of fish flopping around in your
chest, a racing heart rate — these are all the physical feelings of
atrial fibrillation — simply put, the most common type of heart
rhythm disorder. Millions of Nigerians suffer from atrial fibrillation
— the type of irregular heartbeat that occurs when the upper
chambers of the person’s heart (the atria) quiver out of rhythm
with the lower chambers.
People can develop an abnormal heart rhythm at any age, but the
risk for atrial fibrillation increases as one gets older. The number
of people affected by this disorder is actually expected to
double.A warning sign is indication that something is amiss with
your heart. Heart disease kills more men and women than all forms
of cancer combined.
Why is heart disease so deadly?
Many people are slow to seek help when symptoms arise. Yes,
someone gripped by sudden chest pain probably knows to call for
help. But heart symptoms aren’t always intense or obvious, and
they vary from person to person and according to gender. First
episodes of atrial fibrillation may feel quite different from having
a
heart attack, so many people pass it off as nothing serious. But,
just because the disorder lacks the chest-clutching drama of a
coronary, doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous.
Signals of trouble Anxiety
Heart attack can cause intense anxiety or a fear of death. Heart
attack survivors often talk about having experienced a sense of
“impending doom.”
Chest discomfort
Pain in the chest is the classic symptom of heart attack, and the
No. 1 symptom doctors typically look for. But not all heart attacks
cause chest pain. Heart-related chest pain is often centered
under the breastbone, perhaps a little to the left of center. The
pain has been likened to “an elephant sitting on the chest,” but it
can also be an uncomfortable sensation of pressure, squeezing,
or
fullness.
Cough
Persistent coughing or wheezing can be a symptom of heart
failure — a result of fluid accumulation in the lungs. In some cases,
people with heart failure cough up bloody phlegm.
Dizziness
Heart attacks can cause lightheadedness and loss of
consciousness. So can potentially dangerous heart rhythm
abnormalities known as arrhythmias.
Fatigue
Especially among women, unusual fatigue can occur during a heart
attack as well as in the days and weeks leading up to one. And
feeling tired all the time may be a symptom of heart failure. You
can
also feel tired or fatigued for other reasons. Wasting time is
dangerous.
Nausea or lack of appetite
It’s not uncommon for people to feel sick to their stomach or
throw up during a heart attack. And abdominal swelling associated
with heart failure can interfere with appetite.
Pain in other parts of the body
In many heart attacks, pain begins in the chest and spreads to the
shoulders, arms, elbows, back, neck, jaw, or abdomen. But
sometimes there is no chest pain — just pain in these other body
areas. The pain might come and go. Men having a heart attack
often
feel pain in the left arm. In women, the pain is more likely to be felt
in both arms, or between the shoulder blades.
Rapid or irregular pulse
Doctors say that there’s nothing worrisome about an occasional
skipped heartbeat. But a rapid or irregular pulse — especially
when accompanied by weakness, dizziness, or shortness of
breath — can be evidence of a heart attack, heart failure, or an
arrhythmia. Left untreated, some arrhythmias can lead to stroke,
heart failure, or sudden death.
Shortness of breath
People who feel winded at rest or with minimal exertion might
have
a pulmonary condition like asthma or chronic obstructive
pulmonary
disease (COPD). But breathlessness could also indicate a heart
attack or heart failure. Sometimes people having a heart attack
don’t have chest pressure or pain but feel extremely short of
breath,” It’s like they’ve just run a marathon when they haven’t
even moved. During a heart attack, shortness of breath often
accompanies chest discomfort, but it can also occur before or
without chest discomfort.
Sweating
Breaking out in a cold sweat is a common symptom of heart
attack.
You might just be sitting in a chair when all of a sudden you are
really sweating like you had just worked out.
Swelling
Heart failure can cause fluid to accumulate in the body. This can
cause swelling (often in the feet, ankles, legs, or abdomen) as
well
as sudden weight gain and sometimes a loss of appetite.
Weakness
In the days leading up to a heart attack, as well as during one,
some people experience severe, unexplained weakness.
This information could save your life
Never ignore the signs
It can be hard to make sense of heart symptoms, so never ignore
possible warning signs, waiting to see if they go away, or being
quick to blame them on heartburn, muscle soreness, or other less
serious, non-cardiac causes.
This is especially true for men and people over 65, as well as for
people with other cardiac risk factors, such as high cholesterol or
blood pressure, obesity, smoking, diabetes, or a family history of
heart disease. The more risk factors you have, the higher the
likelihood that a symptom means something is going on with your
heart.
Putting off treatment for other medical problems might not be so
bad, but a serious heart problem can mean sudden death. It’s
better to go in and get it evaluated than to be dead

[Confession] The Groom-To-Be Cheated On His Fiancee, Had s*x With An HIV Positive Lady!!! Read And Learn!

I have a female friend in my place of work who is HIV positive. I
am the only one that is aware of her status. I stand by her and
advice on how she can go about her normal life. I pity her a lot;
she has no relationship because of her HIV status. Today,I
received a call from her that she wants me to advice her on
what just happened between her
and our co-worker. She began to explain how she had
unprotected s*x with the guy. I became so annoyed. I shouted
at her, I asked her why she allowed such thing to happen
when she knows her status.
She explained how the guy came to pick her up for party and
later took her to his place late at night. She said she never had
the intention of being intimate with the guy but the guy
insisted. She said that when the guy was adamant, she
succumbed to the guy’s
pressure, and asked him of condom. The guy said he did not
have condom, that she should not worry that he trusts her.
She said she did not want the guy to know her status,
moreover she too needed the s*x badly after a long period of
not being intimate. Eventually, they did it. The problem now is
that she said after the s*x,the guy told her that he is
preparing for his wedding
ceremony which would hold in December. After the breaking
news, she became worried knowing great damage she might
have caused the guy. She said she has been crying since the
incident. She said I should advice her on what to do. I said she
should call the company doctor for advice because
it was the doctor that discovered she has been infected and
helped her to bury the secret to avoid losing her job. She said
she can’t call the doctor because the doctor always warn her
not have unprotected s*x with anybody. I asked her to tell the
guy himself so that he can know the condition of
things before going further to have unprotected s*x with his
fiancee or any other girl.
Guys, Ladies….. Be careful, ABSTINENCE is the best for
unmarried people. FAITHFULNESS is the key for the married.

For Ladies – 9 Interesting Dating Rules You Should Know!

Many of us have been swimming in the ‘dating pool’ for years
now, and while it’s great for upper body strength, we still
can’t find ourselves ashore with those that are in
relationships. So, let me share with you my Top 10 Dating
Rules, in the hopes that
I’m saving you and reminding myself of all the crap and
confusion involved with dating the opposite s*x.
1.
Leave your wallet in the car. I’m sorry but,
if you’re on a date with a real man, then the man is going to
pay. No, you shouldn’t have to go half on the bill or pay every
other date. Your suitor should always pay or offer to pay,
and if you decide that you wanted to pay for that night, you
may. By no means, am I condoning selfishness, but in these
modern times, there aren’t many gender roles lingering around.
Therefore, your date should be looking for any moment
available to assert himself (be a man.) At the very least, it is a
nice gesture.
2. Keep an open mind. I know, I know. He’s two inches shorter
than you, needs a manicure, and played “We Wish You a Merry
Christmas” with his dinner utensils. Get to know him. Under all
the mess, you may find out he’s a nice guy who missed his
manicure appointment and the short gene skips
a generation in his family. Seriously, there aren’t as many
options as we’d like to hope, so why eliminate the ones who
could become an option.
3. Take mental notes. If possible, remember EVERYTHING that
he says. It is great material in case you need to catch him in a
lie, prepare for future arguments or (necessarily) make quick
judgments so you can get the hell out of dodge. Especially,
when you guys get to the commitment talk, he might want to
throw around that he’s not ready for a relationship, although
you could have sworn on the second date he said he was
‘looking’.
4. Let him plan some of the dates. There’s two reasons: let’s
the man feel like a man and you can observe his character. As
women we love to plan things ( I know I do), and sometimes we
tend to take the leadership role in the relationship. You plan
the date from A to Z, and the man just needs to show up
( and probably, in the outfit you suggested.) Doing this time
after time will either have him relinquish his “power” or be
silently frustrated with you. Also, having him to decide where
to go and what to do, enables you to see how romantic,
spontaneous, or creative he can be. It keeps him vested in the
relationship, rather than just going along with the relationship.
5. Play Around. The more you turn them down and make them
feel inferior, the more they want you and respect you. It’s
sick, but true. Of course, I’m not saying you should literally
treat him like an ugly step child, but I do suggest treating him
like he is expendable. If you want the upper hand in the dating
field, this is how you do that. Don’t always jump to answer his
calls, let him wonder what you are doing. When he wants to
take you out, let him know you’ll be available after you ‘check
your schedule’. In this sense, playing around kind of means,
being emotionally unavailable. The moment a guy senses that
you are needy or desperate, he will be running the other
direction.
So, treat him like crap, and he’ll be running towards you.
6. Don’t get too comfortable, too fast. It’s only been two
months, so what happened to the miniskirts, the carefully,
careless hair and sweet perfume. Now you ’fashion’ the
messy ponytail, your house clothes became your going out
clothes, and the only scent he smells is the farts that trail
from your behind. Throughout any relationship, you
have to try to keep things fresh. Remind him every now and
then, why he chose to date you in the first place. As soon as
he forgets, he’s searching for the next new and cute lady
within in reach.
7. Don’t plan the wedding. Yes, he’s gorgeous, he’s funny, and
he works! You’ve known him for two weeks and he hasn’t
pissed you off yet. Great, but don’t pick your wedding
song, just yet. I can line up 4 presumably great guys, and still
wouldn’t be able to guarantee that at least one of them was
your future husband. Dating is never that easy. I definitely
wouldn’t suggest jumping into every date hoping that this one
is your groom. Take your time and see where it goes, so that
if this one turns out to be a dud it won’t crush you too much.
8. No s*x!!! s*x blinds the man and confuses the lady. When you
take s*x out of the present agenda, you see each other eye
to eye, not pelvis to pelvis. We’re adults and we know how
good s*x is and how hard it is not to have s*x. However, avoid
being alone together, near a bed or couch if you can’t handle
the pressure. Go out and get to know each other.
9. Date one guy at a time. Dating one man at a time, will allow
you to concentrate and find out if he is one loser.

Woman begs money on the streets for bigger breasts

A Florida woman thought herself to be lacking physically in the
chest region took to the streets to raise money for a bust
enhancement.
Carrying a hot pink sign that in bright blue capital letters read, ‘Not
Homeless Need Boobs,’ Christina Andrews of Pensacola walked up
and down the shoulder of a busy intersection raising money for her
cosmetic surgery.
‘I just want bigger boobs, because I’m not happy with the ones I
have and I figured this was a good way to do it,’ Andrews told
WEAR-TV.
‘People put out signs that they’re homeless. I’m not…so I’m just
being honest.’
To Andrews surprise many generous drivers stopped to donate
some money towards her charitable cause.
Though Andrews final profit from her adventures soliciting cash
remains unknown many passing motorists did stop to contribute.’
‘I thought people would just laugh and keep riding,’ she told the
news station, ‘but they’re like, ‘Hey – here’s some money.’
Whether they gave money took Andrews or not local drivers were
unable to ignore the sign.
‘[It] kind of flabbergasts you when you first look at it doesn’t it?’
one man told the news station.
Another young man commented of the sign, ‘It’s pretty crazy …
This one is the most uncommon one that you don’t see very often.’
Andrews considered her first-time panhandling efforts a success
citing to the television station that even when she didn’t get money
she able to make passerby’s smile.

Girl,16 raped and murdered in Ogun

An eyewitness, who claimed she heard Bilikisu’s cries before she
was shot dead, told the reporter that the poor girl must have been
killed after being raped by Ajibawo.
The woman, who craved anonymity, said: “That boy, Ajibawo first
succeeded in raping the poor girl. He wanted to persuade her at
first but she refused. So, he forced himself into her. I heard the
poor girl’s cries, saying God would judge him for the evil that he did
to her.
The girl was also saying she would expose him to the whole
villagers. I think it was at that time that he took his father’s local
gun and shot the poor girl. We heard the gunshot and the girl’s last
cry. That was when we knew something terrible had happened.
Bilikisu’s fellow hawkers later alerted us that one of them had
been shot and we rushed to the spot to confirm the incident.”
The residents raised the alarm that the girl had been killed and
reported the incident to the landlords’ association. Members of the
association later reported the murder incident to the police at the
Ayinla Police Post.
Ajibawo fled the community immediately after the incident. But
policemen from the Ayinla Police Post were able to arrest him three
days later in his hideout.
Blood was still on the floor at the entrance of Ajibawo’s house
when the reporter called at Ibaragu community. The house has
since been deserted. Meanwhile, a pall of gloom enveloped the
community, as residents wore palpable sorrow on their faces.
Those who spoke with the reporter said the blood on the floor
was Bilikisu’s. They added that Ajibawo’s parents and other
relatives of his had since disappeared from the community since
the police arrested the suspect.
Elder brother to Biliku’s father, Chief Adewunmi Adeyemi, said
Ajibawo had in his statement at the police station, confessed that
he killed Bilikisu with his father’s local gun. The suspect was,
however, silent on the rape accusation.
Adeyemi, who spoke with the reporter in his house at a village near
Abeokuta, said: “Bilikisu wouldn’t have died had his mum not insisted
on taking her to Ibaragu. The mother wanted the little girl to help
her in her business. Bilikisu was staying with her parents in Ijoko
before the parents had a quarrel and separated. The mother
relocated to her hometown, Ibaragu, and later took the girl with
her. It was barely two weeks after taking Bilikisu to Ibaragu that
this tragedy happened.”
When the reporter spoke with Bilikisu’s father, he could not
control his emotions. “This is too much for me,” he sobbed. “This
tragedy is too much for me to bear. My girl was a very brilliant girl.
She was doing very well in school and I was about to register her
for a part-time apprenticeship in tailoring when her mother
forcefully took her to Ibaragu, following our quarrel.
I have even bought a sewing machine for her training. This is the
receipt of the sewing machine that I bought. I never wanted her to
hawk anything. She was very bright in school and since neither me
nor her mother is educated, I wanted her to go to school and
become a big person in future. Here are her school results. You
won’t see her scoring below 60 per cent in her subjects. She was
in form three at the Odewale High School, Itoki, Ogun State, and
her teachers were always fond of her because they said she was
very quiet, well-behaved and intelligent in class. How would I ever
recover from the shock and grief of losing such a precious gift
from God?”
An elder sister to Bilikisu’s father, Madam Monsurat, who spoke
with the reporter on phone and relayed how painful the sudden
loss had been for the family, said all the family wanted was justice.
She appealed to the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Abubakar
Mohammed, Ogun State Police Commissioner as well as the Ogun
State Government to ensure that Bilikisu’s killer was brought to
justice.
She said: “We have spent so much money on the case since the
police arrested Ajibawo. We have since taken Bilikisu’s remains to
the morgue at the General Hospital, Ifo. The police said they would
carry out further investigation, which includes a post mortem by a
doctor. But they are asking for N60,000 plus another
mobilisation fee for an investigation team to visit the place of
crime.
They said the investigation would establish the accusation that
Ajibawo actually raped and killed Bilikisu. Meanwhile, my brothers
were around when Ajibawo confessed to killing the girl. To worsen
matters, we don’t even have money. My brother is only managing
with his work as a driver and our brother, Sakiru, the father of
the girl, is only a poor bicycle repairer. We can’t even raise the
money for the post mortem and investigation. It baffles me that we
have lost a daughter and are still looking for money to get justice.
This is a burden too heavy for us to bear. We appeal to the
relevant authorities to please help us. We want justice on this
matter. I’m sure Bilikisu’s soul would not rest until justice is served.
This is too bad.”
A police source told the reporter that the case had been
transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department
(S.C.I.D) at Eleweran. He said the suspect would be prosecuted
after the conclusion of investigations

Chemical Splash In The Eye: First Aid!

If a chemical splashes into your eye,
take these steps immediately.
1. Flush your eye with water. Use
clean, lukewarm tap water for at
least 20 minutes, and use
whichever of these approaches is quickest:
A. Get into the shower and aim a gentle stream of lukewarm
water on your forehead over your affected eye. Or direct the
stream on the bridge of your nose if both eyes are affected.
Hold your affected eye or eyes open.
B. Put your head down and turn it to the side. Then hold your
affected eye open under a gently running faucet.
C. Young children may do best if they lie down in the bathtub
or lean back over a sink while you pour a gentle stream of
water on the forehead over the affected eye or on the bridge
of the nose for both eyes.
2. Wash your hands with soap and water. Thoroughly rinse
your hands to be sure no chemical or soap is left on them.
Your first goal is to get the chemical off the surface of your
eye, but then you must remove the chemical from your hands.
3. Remove contact lenses. If they don’t come out during the
flush, then take them out.
Caution
Don’t rub the eye — this may cause further damage.
Don’t put anything except water or contact lens saline rinse in
the eye, and don’t use eyedrops unless emergency personnel
tell you to do so.
4. Seek emergency medical assistance
After following the above steps, seek emergency care . Take
the chemical container or the name of the chemical with you to
the emergency department. If readily available, wear
sunglasses because your eyes will be sensitive to light.

High Blood Pressure: Symptoms, Causes, Measurement, Treatments And Prevention.

High blood pressure is a common
condition in which the force of the
blood against your artery walls is
high enough that it may eventually
cause health problems, such as
heart disease.
Blood pressure is determined by
the amount of blood your heart
pumps and the amount of resistance to blood flow in your
arteries. The more blood your heart pumps and the narrower
your arteries, the higher your blood pressure.
You can have high blood pressure (hypertension) for years
without any symptoms. Uncontrolled high blood pressure
increases your risk of serious health problems, including heart
attack and stroke.
High blood pressure typically develops over many years, and it
affects nearly everyone eventually. Fortunately, high blood
pressure can be easily detected. And once you know you have
high blood pressure, you can work with your doctor to control
it.
Symptoms
Most people with high blood pressure have no signs or
symptoms, even if blood pressure readings reach dangerously
high levels.
Although a few people with early-stage high blood pressure
may have dull headaches, dizzy spells or a few more
nosebleeds than normal, these signs and symptoms typically
don’t occur until high blood pressure has reached a severe —
even life-threatening — stage
When to see a doctor
You’ll likely have your blood pressure taken as part of a
routine doctor’s appointment.
Ask your doctor for a blood pressure reading at least every
two years starting at age 18. He or she will likely recommend
more frequent readings if you’ve already been diagnosed with
high blood pressure or other risk factors for cardiovascular
disease. Children age 3 and older will usually have their blood
pressure measured as a part of their yearly checkups.
If you don’t regularly see your doctor, you may be able to get a
free blood pressure screening at a health resource fair or
other locations in your community. You can also find machines
in some stores that will measure your blood pressure for
free, but these machines can give you inaccurate results.
Causes
There are two types of high blood pressure.
1. Primary (essential) hypertension
For most adults, there’s no identifiable cause of high blood
pressure. This type of high blood pressure, called essential
hypertension or primary hypertension, tends to develop
gradually over many years.
2. Secondary hypertension
Some people have high blood pressure caused by an underlying
condition. This type of high blood pressure, called secondary
hypertension, tends to appear suddenly and cause higher
blood pressure than does primary hypertension. Various
conditions and medications can lead to secondary
hypertension, including:
Kidney problems
Adrenal gland tumors
Certain defects in blood vessels you’re born with (conprivate
part)
Certain medications, such as birth control pills, cold remedies,
decongestants, over-the-counter pain relievers and some
prescription drugs
Illegal drugs, such as cocaine and amphetamines
Blood Pressure Measurement
Blood pressure measurements fall into four general
categories:
1. Normal blood pressure. Your blood pressure is normal if it’s
below 120/80 mm Hg. However, some doctors recommend
115/75 mm Hg as a better goal. Once blood pressure rises
above 115/75 mm Hg, the risk of cardiovascular disease
begins to increase.
2. Prehypertension. Prehypertension is a systolic pressure
ranging from 120 to 139 mm Hg or a diastolic pressure
ranging from 80 to 89 mm Hg. Prehypertension tends to get
worse over time.
3. Stage 1 hypertension. Stage 1 hypertension is a systolic
pressure ranging from 140 to 159 mm Hg or a diastolic
pressure ranging from 90 to 99 mm Hg.
4. Stage 2 hypertension. More severe hypertension, stage 2
hypertension is a systolic pressure of 160 mm Hg or higher or
a diastolic pressure of 100 mm Hg or higher.
Both numbers in a blood pressure reading are important. But
after age 50, the systolic reading is even more significant.
Isolated systolic hypertension — when diastolic pressure is
normal but systolic pressure is high — is the most common
type of high blood pressure among people older than 50.
Medications to treat high blood pressure
1. Thiazide diuretics. Diuretics, sometimes called water pills,
are medications that act on your kidneys to help your body
eliminate sodium and water, reducing blood volume. Thiazide
diuretics are often the first — but not the only — choice in
high blood pressure medications. If you’re not taking a diuretic
and your blood pressure remains high, talk to your doctor
about adding one or replacing a drug you currently take with a
diuretic.
2. Beta blockers. These medications reduce the workload on
your heart and open your blood vessels, causing your heart to
beat slower and with less force. When prescribed alone, beta
blockers don’t work as well in blacks or in older adults — but
they’re effective when combined with a thiazide diuretic.
3. Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. These
medications help relax blood vessels by blocking the formation
of a natural chemical that narrows blood vessels.
Angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs). These medications
help relax blood vessels by blocking the action — not the
formation — of a natural chemical that narrows blood vessels.
4. Calcium channel blockers. These medications help relax the
muscles of your blood vessels. Some slow your heart rate.
Calcium channel blockers may work better for blacks and older
adults than do ACE inhibitors or beta blockers alone. A word of
caution for grapefruit lovers, though. Grapefruit juice
interacts with some calcium channel blockers, increasing blood
levels of the medication and putting you at higher risk of side
effects. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you’re
concerned about interactions.
5. Renin inhibitors. Aliskiren (Tekturna) slows down the
production of renin, an enzyme produced by your kidneys that
starts a chain of chemical steps that increases blood
pressure. Tekturna works by reducing the ability of renin to
begin this process. Due to a risk of serious complications,
including stroke, you shouldn’t take aliskiren with ACE
inhibitors or ARBs.
Prevention
Lifestyle changes can help you control and prevent high blood
pressure — even if you’re taking blood pressure medication.
Here’s what you can do:
1. Eat healthy foods. Try the Dietary Approaches to Stop
Hypertension (DASH) diet, which emphasizes fruits,
vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy foods. Get plenty
of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood
pressure. Eat less saturated fat and total fat.
2. Decrease the salt in your diet. A lower sodium level —
1,500 milligrams (mg) a day — is appropriate for people 51
years of age or older, and individuals of any age who are
African-American or who have hypertension, diabetes or
chronic kidney disease. Otherwise healthy people can aim for
2,300 mg a day or less. While you can reduce the amount of
salt you eat by putting down the saltshaker, you should also
pay attention to the amount of salt that’s in the processed
foods you eat, such as canned soups or frozen dinners.
3. Maintain a healthy weight. If you’re overweight, losing even
5 pounds (2.3 kilograms) can lower your blood pressure.
4. Increase physical activity. Regular physical activity can help
lower your blood pressure and keep your weight under
control. Strive for at least 30 minutes of physical activity a
day.
5. Limit alcohol. Even if you’re healthy, alcohol can raise your
blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in
moderation — up to one drink a day for women and everyone
older than age 65, and two drinks a day for men.
6. Don’t smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds
up the process of hardening of the arteries. If you smoke, ask
your doctor to help you quit.
7. Manage stress. Reduce stress as much as possible.
Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation
and deep breathing. Getting plenty of sleep can help, too.
8. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Home blood pressure
monitoring can help you keep closer tabs on your blood
pressure, show if medication is working, and even alert you
and your doctor to potential complications. If your blood
pressure is under control, you may be able to make fewer
visits to your doctor if you monitor your blood pressure at
home.
9. Practice relaxation or slow, deep breathing. Practice taking
deep, slow breaths to help relax. There are some devices
available that can help guide your breathing for relaxation;
however, it’s questionable whether these devices have a
significant effect on lowering your blood pressure

For Ladies – How To Apply Your Eye Makeup!!

Eye makeup can define how natural
or dramatic your look is. Whether
you want to learn a process you can
use every day or look stunning for a
special occasion, here’s how to get
it right.
Steps
1.
Start with a clean slate. Wash your whole face with a gentle
cleanser before you begin, paying particular attention to any
leftover mascara or eyeliner. If you’re having trouble removing
residual eye makeup, try using cold water or regular lotion on
a cotton swab. If you have dry skin around your eyes or
suffer from eczema, rub a little moisturizer underneath your
eyes, as well as between the outer corners of your eyes and
your temples. Don’t put moisturizer on your eyelids – this will
make them greasy, and the makeup you apply will run off.
2. Even out the skin tone around your eyes. Apply concealer to
dark under-eye circles and to the area where your inner eye
meets your nose. Use your fingers or a concealer brush to
blend the makeup outward to your cheekbones and nose. Set
the concealer by brushing a loose, flesh-toned powder over
it; apply some powder to your eyelids, as well.

3. Apply eyeshadow. You can use one color, or several.

4. Blend the colors. If you applied more than one color of
eyeshadow, use your fingers or a fluffy, tapered blending
brush to mix the colors a bit. This will create a more natural,
cohesive look.
5. Apply eyeliner. You can use liquid eyeliner, a liner pencil, or
even wet eyeshadow on an angled brush to line your eyes.
Whatever you pick, move across your upper lash line in tiny,
controlled strokes as if you’re drawing a dotted line. Go back
and fill in the blanks with more small strokes. For more drama,
line your lower lashes as well.

6. Curl your lashes. Use an eyelash curler to grip your upper
lashes. Hold the clamp for about five seconds. Accessing your
lashes is easiest if you half-close your eyes. Remember,
always curl before you apply mascara, never after.
7. Apply mascara. You can apply a little or a lot, and there are
many different brands and formulas for volume, length and
definition. Find a product you’re happy with. Start at the base
of your upper lashes and slowly sweep upward. For a more
dramatic effect, apply mascara to the lower lashes as well. If
you want to apply multiple coats, do it while the first coats of
mascara are still wet – applying a new coat to dry mascara
will result in clumps

[For Married Couples] 6 Steps To Asking For What You Want In Bed!!

s*xual communication, which is necessary
to get what you want out of s*x, is a
challenge for most couples. Many people
are either too embarrassed or concerned
that talking about s*x and what you want
in bed will lead to an argument. Discussing
s*x with your spouse will not only increase
your intimacy, but it will also improve s*x.
And you can talk about the kind of s*x
you’d like to have without fighting. Really. Here’s what you
need to do to ask for what you want in bed when having s*x

1.
s*xual Communication – Think before you talk.
Before you broach the subject of s*x with your spouse, you
must be sure of your intentions. Your motivation should be to
improve your s*x life and enjoy s*x more and not to punish
your husband for forgetting to mow the lawn last weekend.
Once you are certain your intentions are good, come up with a
plan for what you’d like to say. Consider your spouse’s
feelings and think specifically about what you truly desire.
Make a list if you have to.
2. s*xual Communication – Set the mood.
Obviously, you should pick a time and place (your home is
probably best) where the two of you can be alone and free
from distractions. If you’re just interested in increasing the
frequency of s*x, you might consider setting the mood before
coming out and asking for s*x. For instance, you could light a
few candles, run a bath for you and your spouse, and then
start kissing him or her to get s*x started. In this way, you
are communicating without saying a word.
3. s*xual Communication – Be positive.
Instead of telling your partner the things he or she does during
s*x that you don’t like, tell them what they do to pleasure you.
For example, you could say, “You drive me wild when you
nibble on my ear before s*x,” instead of, “I hate it when you
lick my belly during s*x.” If you keep telling your spouse about
the stuff you like, eventually he or she will focus on a
repertoire of those things.
4. s*xual Communication – Give explicit directions.
Again, you’re trying to eliminate criticism and negativity to
avoid hurting your spouse’s feelings. Tell him or her exactly
what you’d like done to you. Be very specific. Whisper
something like, “Look into my eyes as you unbutton my shirt.
Kiss me and run your finger down my torso. Begin to touch my
br**sts…” You get the idea. This exercise will not only get you
what you want in bed but it can also be er*tic, which can
spice up s*x.
5. s*xual Communication – Use your hands.
Sometimes, you don’t even have to talk. You can simply use
your hands to direct your spouse along your body and into the
positions you’d like. This show and tell could even be a game
for the two of you, where neither of you talks, but you let
your hands – and perhaps some moaning if it happens
naturally – be your guide.
6. s*xual Communication – Employ positive reinforcement.
When your spouse does something you enjoy while having s*x,
tell him or her. Moan, groan, or simply say, “That was great…”
or “I love it when you do that…” Speak up because a pat on
the back, a round of applause, and a “You’re wonderful”
always set up a person for continued success. We all want to
get those applause again and again.

UK Politicians Shower Royal Baby With Gifts

British Prime Minister David Cameron has given Prince George a
box-set of books by much-loved children’s author Roald Dahl
as a present following his birth last week, Downing Street
says.
Dahl’s many hits include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and
Matilda – musical versions of which are both currently
entertaining audiences in London’s West End – as well as
Fantastic Mr Fox, The Twits and George’s Marvellous
Medicine.
However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may have to
wait a few years before reading the tales to their first son –
born 10 days ago – as Dahl’s anarchic and sometimes spine-
chilling works are generally enjoyed by children who are well
beyond the toddler years.
Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg and his wife Miriam sent
proud parents William and Kate a big bag of coffee to help
them cope with the fatigue caused by sleepless nights caring
for their new baby.
The Cleggs also gave George a white cot cover and sheet
hand-embroidered by nuns in Miriam’s home village in Spain,
where the Cleggs were holidaying at the time of the royal birth
last week.
Speaking on his regular Call Clegg phone-in on LBC 97.3 radio,
Clegg said: “Miriam and I sent a letter with a gift just
yesterday to Kensington Palace.
“The gift comes in two parts. We found a beautiful cot cover
and cot sheet which is hand-embroidered in a convent in the
village where Miriam comes from in Spain, where I was for a
few days a few days ago.
“We have thrown in with the gift a large bag of our favourite
coffee, because as parents of young boys we know you need
coffee when you are coping with little boys.”
Labour leader Ed Miliband gave George an apple tree, which
aides said was a traditional gift for a first-born son.
The tree is three years old and nearly ready for planting out,
and already has some fruit growing on it.
It was sourced from local community groups the Brent Eleven
Streets residents association and the London Orchard
Project. [AAP]
